We have developed a comprehensive series of continuing professional development (CPD) programmes designed to develop the skills of HVAC professionals in air handling units and heat pumps as well as enhance their workplace performance and future career prospects.

Each of the four fully certified CPDs – Air Handling Units: An Overview of Legislation and System Design; CO2 Heat Pumps; HTM 03-01/2021 Air Handling Units Design, and Polyvalent Heat Pumps – focuses on a critical aspect of HVAC design and practice.

AIR HANDLING UNITS: AN OVERVIEW OF LEGISLATION AND SYSTEM DESIGN:

Covers the latest requirements of the Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive with a summary of legislation’s objectives and enforcement, and system design, including heat recovery, the latest construction methods, and integral controls.

CO2 HEAT PUMPS: THE NATURAL ALTERNATIVE TO BOILERS:

Refreshes knowledge of basic principles of heat pump technology and a typical vapour compression cycle. It also introduces a trans‐critical vapour compression cycle and providing a basic understanding of CO2 as a refrigerant as well as explaining how trans‐critical heat pumps work.

HTM 03-01/2021 AIR HANDLING UNITS DESIGN:

Offers a general understating of Health Technical Memoranda (HTM) which give advice and guidance on the design, installation and operation of specialised building and engineering technology used in the delivery of healthcare. It goes on to explain the importance of the HTM regulations when designing a ventilation system incorporating AHUs for a healthcare facility.

POLYVALENT HEAT PUMPS: A GUIDE TO THE INTELLIGENT ALL ELECTRIC HEATING AND COOLING SOLUTION:

Refreshes participants’ knowledge of basic principles of heat pump technology and provides an understanding of how polyvalent heat pumps work, their advantages, and how they can be applied.

The Klima-Therm CPD library is growing all the time. Furthermore, in addition to these pre-existing presentations, Klima-Therm are also able to create tailor-made CPD programmes, drawn from their decades-long experience and expertise across the HVAC industry. Assuming the requested subject matter is appropriate for the educational, unbiased and technology-independent CPD format, these bespoke programmes would typically take a few working weeks to develop and then around two months to work through the independent certification process.

Explaining the benefits of CPD, Tim Mitchell said: “Professional development enables participants to demonstrate an ability to self-improve, keep qualifications up to date, and stay on top of the latest developments.

“It also increases the knowledge and skills they need to deliver a professional service to customers, clients and the community.

“Engaging in CPD ensures that academic and practical qualifications do not become out-dated or obsolete, allowing individuals to continually ‘up skill’ or ‘re-skill’ regardless of occupation, age, or educational level. It benefits both individuals and the business in which they are employed.”

ABOUT CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

CPD is a structured, practical, and methodical approach to learning that helps employers across industries to retain key staff and develop the skills and knowledge in their organisations to maintain a sustainable and competitive advantage.

The CPD Certification Service was established in 1996 as an independent CPD accreditation institution operating across industry sectors to complement the continuing professional development policies of professional institutes and academic bodies.

The service provides support, advice and CPD accreditation compatible with global CPD principles.
